Let me guess, when you started your business, you had a general idea of what you wanted to do to create change in this world. Or how you wanted to help others improve their lives. Or maybe you just wanted more freedom.

Those are all valid reasons for starting a business. And in the beginning it seems like a strong enough “why” to keep you going. But then when things start getting rough, those reasons don’t seem to give you the same drive or motivation anymore.

Eventually, you get burnt out, things feel too difficult, and you’re not inspired to keep taking action in your business. And that’s when a lot of people quit.

I don’t want you to be one of those people! I want you to be a fighter, someone who not only survives in their business but who thrives.

And if you want to do that you really need to have a clear message. You can’t have a wishy-washy idea about what you do and why you do it. It has to be so much more than that.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed or stressed out in your business, chances are you’re missing the mark in your message.

It may not be strong enough, not well defined, or not clear enough to fuel your business the way it should.

WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE?

Your message creates a backbone or jumping point for every piece of marketing that you put out there.

Your message can be traced back to 3 things: You, your beliefs, who you serve.

People want to know you. They want real connections with real people and they want to connect with you. So you’re going to have to look a little closer at what it really means to be you.

Then you’re going to have to do something even scarier, which is sharing yourself with the world. Yup, I’m saying put yourself out there in big, scary ways and be really authentically you.

Your message relates to who you are, where you come from, and what you’re about.

Going off of that, your message also very closely relates to your beliefs. Because if you believe that everyone has the right to live the lifestyle they want, that’s going to shape your business. Or if you believe breaking limiting fears is the key to success, that’s also going to shape anything you do.

Your beliefs shape your whole life, so of course, they’re going to shape your business and your message.

Lastly, but def not least important, is who you serve. That person out there that you’re trying to help, save, or improve is a big part of your message. Because guess what, that’s who you’re talking to! So your message depends on it.

The person you want to serve will impact what kind of language you use, what tone you use, where you hang out and how your share that message. Outside of yourself, it’s the second most important thing in your business. (Let’s face it, without the people you serve you don’t really have a business do you.)

GETTING CLEAR ON YOUR MESSAGE

If your message isn’t based on these things, you’ve got some work to do. I’m guessing you’ve been feeling unmotivated or uninspired to take action in your business.

I get it, I’ve been there in my own business. For a while, I felt no clarity, no confidence, and no excitement about sharing my business and my services.

And I found out it was because I had no clear message and no real vision. Taking the time to define my message and get down to the nuts and bolts of my business changed everything.

Creating content felt like a breeze after that. And putting myself out there in my marketing didn’t seem as scary. Because I had a strong message and an even stronger desire to serve others.

That’s what I want for you. I want you to feel the unshakable confidence that comes from really defining and honing your message. And the guidance it gives you for everything else.

When you get clear on your message you’re able to show up and serve your tribe in a much more powerful way. You’re no longer playing small or holding back. You’re all in, baby.

START DEFINING YOUR OWN MESSAGE

My guess is that you don’t have a very clear message in place for your business. Most people tend to skip over this important detail when launching their business.

They create their webiste, make an opt-in, start and email list and social media profiles. But they forget to do the most important step first: defining their message. Because that message makes all those others things a whole lot easier. And more purpose-filled.

So my challenge to you is to start thinking about your message. What is it? Why do you do what you do? Who do you do it for?

Get really really clear on it and write it down. Keep it close by and look at it often. Doing this will help you align everything you do in your business with your true message, and The Universe will respond to this by bringing the exact clients you are meant to help.
