How do you stand out online?
Especially when it feels like the online space just keeps getting more and more crowded.
Building a brand and business that lasts, means finding a way to stand out. So how do you do that?
By figuring out what makes you unique and embracing it. Infuse your brand and business with the uniqueness that is Y-O-U!
Now I know what you’re thinking. You feel like you’re “just you” there’s nothing necessarily special or unique about you. But that my friend is simply not true.
There is only one of you on this planet. And only you are creating your business, so by nature, it is inherently unique from anyone else. You just need to do a little digging to find that uniqueness and communicate it to your audience.
WHAT ARE YOUR VALUES?
The first step you need to take to figure out what makes you stand out is to you look at what your personal beliefs and values are.
I know a lot of time people tend to separate their personal beliefs and values from their business, but if you’re a service-based entrepreneur then you are your business.
Which means that your business revolves around who you are and what you do. People will work with you because of who you are, so defining your own personal beliefs and values will really make you stand out.
I tell my clients to look at the 3-5 beliefs/values that they hold. This can be about the way you view the world, what you believe is important, or what qualities you value the most.
And communicate this to your audience. Share with them your beliefs/values. If you feel strongly about something, tell them. Make a point.
I know it’s scary to put your own thoughts and opinions out there, but the people who resonate with that will be drawn to you. And will decide to hire you because they share similar beliefs and values.
LOOK AT WHAT YOU DO DIFFERENTLY
The next thing you can do to really stand out in your brand and business is to look at your process or how you do things and see what you do differently.
What are the things that you do in your services that are unlike other people offering similar services? Do you use your own unique formula? Do you create a different experience for your clients?
No two people are ever going to do the same thing the same way. You have your own way of doing things, you just haven’t noticed it yet.
For example, let’s say you’re a business coach but you’re also really big into spirituality and mindset work. And you bring aspects of those things into your business coaching as well.
You want to communicate that to your audience so they know you’re different from every other business coach out there because you use these mindset tools in your coaching. Your process isn’t solely based on results or strict marketing techniques.
That quality makes you different. And when you can clearly show why you’re different, your audience will be much more interested in what you have to offer.
Plus, there’s no more competition. Because no one else is doing the exact same thing you do in the exact same way. You have your own niche and hiring you is no longer a question of price because your services can’t be compared to anyone else.
GET IN TOUCH WITH YOUR MESSAGE
The last step in really defining your unique brand is to get in touch with your Soulful Brand Message. (P.S. I have a workbook all about defining your Soulful brand message!)
What do I mean by your Soulful Brand Message? Well, it’s really just defining what lights your soul on fire. What makes you so passionate and fired up about the work you’re doing?
When you define this and get in touch with it, your brand will be infused with that feeling and passion. Which will make you stand out and build a business that is unique to you.
What does that look like? Let’s say that helping single mothers become independent and raise their children is what really lights your soul on fire.
Bringing that deeper message into your business allows you to stand out from the other service providers who aren’t passionate about that. You can have 2 marketing coaches who are passionate about 2 completely different things and will have to uniquely different brands because of it.
Your Soulful Brand Message (hint: it’s “soulful” because it comes from your soul) is the foundation of a unique brand. It helps shape who your ideal client is, what your services are, your brand voice, and all of your marketing.
